Withdrawal from a Course
Students who wish to withdraw from a course must submit the official schedule change form available on Owlnet under student forms. A grade of "W" will be entered. W grades do not count in the student's semester or cumulative GPA. The withdrawal is not official until it is processed through the Office of the Registrar. A student who stops attending a course or who fails to submit the request by the deadline will receive a letter grade based upon all course requirements. Failure to attend/participate does not exempt tuition/fee charges. Students should contact Financial Services for information regarding prorated or refund schedules of tuition and fees.
The scheduled deadline to withdraw from a 16-week semester long course is approximately 10 weeks into the course. Students in 10-week courses have to the end of the sixth week to withdraw from a course. Students in 5-week courses have to the end of their third week to withdraw from a course. Generally, the last day to withdrawal from a course is approximately 60 percent of the semester or sub term. It is important for students to refer to the official academic calendar for withdrawal dates.
Administrative withdrawal from online courses: Online students who have not accessed their course by the end of Week 2 will be administratively withdrawn from that course. If a student is not participating in multiple online courses at the end of Week 2, William Woods University will administratively withdraw the student from all future registered courses. Students who are administratively withdrawn from all courses in a term must re-apply for admission to the program.
