Academic Warning Probation and Suspension - Graduate Students

Warning: Any student (except for Ph.D. students) who earns a grade of C in any course will receive notice of academic warning.

Probation: Any student who earns a second grade of C, a grade of F or whose cumulative grade point average falls below 3.00 will be placed on academic probation. For courses using a satisfactory or unsatisfactory scale, any student (except for Ph.D. students) earning one US (unsatisfactory) grades will be placed on academic probation.

Any Ph.D. student who earns a grade of C or lower in any course will be placed on academic probation. For courses using a satisfactory or unsatisfactory scale, any Ph.D. student earning one US (unsatisfactory) grade will be placed on academic probation.

Suspension: Any student whose performance fails to meet program or University academic standards may be suspended. For courses using a satisfactory or unsatisfactory scale, any student (except for Ph.D. students) earning two US (unsatisfactory) grades will be placed on academic suspension. A suspended student (except Ph.D. students) may not apply for readmission to the University for at least one academic year. Should the student (except for Ph.D. students) receive a second suspension, the student will be dismissed.

Any Ph.D. student who earns a second grade of C or lower in any course will be dismissed. For courses using a satisfactory or unsatisfactory scale, any Ph.D. student earning a second US (unsatisfactory) grade will be dismissed.
