HIS 235 United States Labor History II: Progressive Era to NAFTA
This five-week course traces the modern evolution of American labor. We will analyze the radicalism of the Progressive Era, the birth of industrial unionism during the New Deal, the postwar labor consensus and its collapse, the intersection of civil rights and labor, and the realities of the 21st-century gig economy.
