ICS 540 Photo History and Practice
Photography is a universal cultural pastime that captures the imagination and ignites the creativity of individuals across cultural boundaries. In Photo History and Practice students will learn about the historical applications of photography and how it altered our interaction with art and society. Students will engage in critique and theoretically analyze photographs to help build their media and visual literacy skills. Finally, students will solidify their theoretical and historical practice through participation in the hands-on application of processes from cyanotypes and analog photography to digital photographic topics. *Cameras are available for rental through the school and use during class time, students will not need to provide their own equipment.
